Hey y’all, thanks for stopping by! Ever since I was a little girl and needed a stool to reach my Grandmother’s countertop I have been cooking. Food is a real passion for me and this is my creative outlet to talk about the food I love to cook and to eat. I named it The Unpolished Palate because that best describes my taste. I believe that fried chicken should be a separate food group, need I say more? I grew up eating southern comfort food living in Eastern North Carolina where cooking for others was an expression of love which I still carry on to this day. I love to cook for people and I find most of my inspiration from my unhealthy obsession of cookbooks, cooking shows and food blogs, as well as through my travels. So, I hope you enjoy what I have to share and I’m glad you stopped by!
